Too much from my experience. I got mine always in airplane mode at home but Wi-Fi on cause GSM signal here is terrible, and if I let the phone at 100% when I go to sleep, in the morning I got maybe 97 or 98 for sure...not less.

Hi ElGorgon!
Yes it is too much. But maybe a future update might fix this. Who knows eh?
According to some threads some updates do drain the battery.
For comparison sake, my Key2 lost 10% overnight with wifi connected, celluar on, and both Tor and Netguard running in the background.
So if you're device is loosing 10% in airplane mode, there must be something that's using extra power.
You are probably right chetmanley. I can't find anything and believe me I've tried.
BlackBerry support have said it's normal. What more can be done?
I'm just going to wait another update. That's all I can do now.
@Sheila 1705
If you have developer options enabled, I'd recommend checking the following:
"Memory" might help to narrow down which app is a resource hog.
"Running Services" will show which apps are running and how much memory they are using. I've seen apps glitch out and use nearly a GB of memory when they normally use less than 100mb.
"Inactive Apps" Use this to force any "active apps" to be inactive and see if your battery usage changes overnight.
Ok will do this now. Thank you!
I have to chuckle. Each time I state the case is closed the BB community comes to help!
BTW we never got that screenshot from the Power Centre. Battery, 3 dots, show full device usage... Don't muck with things before doing this simple thing.
Lord Buckethead!
Thank you for your post. The screen shots I gave up trying to upload. CB forum app is not allowing me to login for some reason. Despite my many tries in installing and installing.
But even with chetmanley's suggestions (which I have tried in the past) the drain has remained the same.
So honestly I've really tried with everything.
And yes you are right 're doing the simple things first.
I've just had the September security update. I believe it's ACD175.
I've rebooted my phone. Let's hope for an improvement in the battery drain.
I'm sure there will be another thread on people stating they have had this security update.
Cheers all for your help!
Hello Yamahammer!
These are the airplane mode screen shots sent to BB support. They were sent before the recent security update.
Last night in airplane mode battery drain was 4%.
Now I'm finally on the cracberry forum app. Attachment 446197Attachment 446198
4% overnight is getting better, but let's take a look at the whole device usage. In the Power Centre tap on battery, the dots and choose full device usage. Then scroll down to where it shows you the device usage as per the examples below. If you are an average user Screen should always show as the biggest user of power. If your phone is not being used at all then Screen should drop off the list.
Here it is Yamahammer!
Last night charged to 100%. Put it on airplane mode. Shows a 4% drain again.
This system update has certainly shown some improvement on my device.Attachment 446228
Before the update it used to show system drain, mobile network standby. Now it just simply shows the above.
Good show Sheila! But remember if you ever in the future see an unusual decline in your battery life follow my advice as the easiest way to identify such an issue.
Just a follow up, that was a good sleep! Almost 10 hours!!!
Lol! I do tend to actively switch off using my phone before well before sleeping. Though yes last night I needed a very early sleep!
Thank you for all your help. I really do appreciate it. Now back to not worrying about battery drain and enjoying the device as it is. [emoji16]
