Anybody any idea why it is that only North American Key2 phones are receiving security updates , seems a bit unfair to me .

To fulfill a contract? To meet the requirements for an important customer here?

While BBMo didn't really market the KEY2 as getting an update to consumers... it's clear it was in the initial plans, and some NA Carrier might have gotten it in writing and made a stink about it - in exchange they settled for longer support window (guess only). Some large BlackBerry software customer - government or regulated industry that bought into the whole BBMo program.... forced BlackBerry to force BBMo to update "their" phones. Only way was to do all NA devices?

What ever the "reason"... yes it's unfair to those in other markets. Welcome to life on the planet Earth.

How so? Nobody is due anymore updates. It's another reason I've always bought my full price BlackBerry through carrier though.
