hm....
I'm still on ABL911
Really surprised with my S8 being on the January security patch. Samsung not known for its regular updates. BB need to clarify this point in their marketing. A lot of people think that buying a BB android means monthly security updates.
Monthly in BlackBerry mobile speak means at least four times a year.
Good to know. 🤣🤣🤣
I have a older S7 via Verizon... have to say I too was impressed with updates.
I don't really care that much about the monthly updates, quarterly would be fine I think. I'm just sad that the S7 won't be getting PIE. Think all OEMs ought to offer more than just a few years of updates.
European updates arriving a bit delayed... Not nice!!!
That has been the case every time so far.
BlackBerry is part of Android Enterprise and the promise is to deliver within 90 days. If people don't understand that 90 days is not the same as monthly (which would correspond to 60 days), then that's their problem, not BlackBerry's.
ABL911 still here also.
The reality is monthly updates are just not going to happen... never have and it's doubtful they ever will. I'm okay with that as I would rather have a month or 2 skipped and then receive an update that has significant benefits. I was on the November update, was skipped over with the December update, and received a 321.1 MB update last week to the January build ABP242.
This update had a fix, at least for me, with the WiFi connectivity issue and it appears there was an attempt to fix the PKB sensitivity issue. The PKB issue isn't fully resolved but I believe it will be in a future update.
So I am okay with not receiving a monthly update as I want updates that actually provide a benefit or enhancement for my KEY2.

ok, I'm coming from ios. maybe I'm spoiled....
Good place to be coming from and arriving here... hahaha

Apple doesn't even do monthly updates...
But yes, the do keep their phones updated and for a much longer period of time. Personally I'd be fine with three or four updates a year, if I knew that I'd get them for five years.
Sure, but when apple brings updates, than for all devices simultaneously.
I don't think comparing this to Apple is really comparing apples to apples....
more like comparing apples to blackberries....
I should stop while I'm ahead
Spoiled with what? Apple doesn't do monthly updates either.
You're right.
But when an ios update arrives, it is for all devices same time.
Doesn't depend in which County you live, or which carrier you use.
Something I have to learn when using android, I think.
True, true, but the OP's question was about monthly updates, not "who gets it first?".
True. And I'm still on Dec 01.2018.....
Not even nearly as promised.
But complaining does not help.
What is your PRD?
Maybe a silly question, but what means PRD? 🙄
Type *#837837# into the phone dialer.
The PRD identifies the sub-model (variant) of your device. Updates are disseminated via PRD.
