I use the right shift key as the ctl frequently for copy, cut, past or select all. Now as it is gone, and replaced by a non-programmable (manybe?) speed key, so wants gonna be the ctl key this time?

Mr Mobile's first look video says it will be the currency key. Well u can program it to be the CTRL. The currency key is now known as the "custom key". I'll take it

It was the shift key, or alt key. It still serves the same purpose, even if it was one less key.

That's awesome. I wonder if this means you can now access the notification shade with the convience key or any other key.

I noticed this too in his video, seems like a good choice since you still get the new speed key, the currency key is right above the former, so it shouldn't be too hard getting used to.

I wonder why the couldn't add speed-key in the space below ENTER? But loosing quick currency-symbol for gaining systemwide shortcuts will be an acceptable trade-off for most.

I am using an app to pull down the notification, and works really well. I will reserve the $ sign for ctl functionality probably.

Actually the $ key can only do one of the following
    1) $
    2) ctrl
    3) notification pull down
    4) shift
    5) it was either change language or keyboard

that's what I recall from the settings menu

Nice post. Question; are those options for a short press or long press? Because I see currency as an option. So if I wanted to use as CTRL, how would I use the currency sign when needed?

Short I guess. With it set to notifications, when I typed a note, hitting $ pulled down notifications. To get $ had to pull up the VKB.

Gotcha. Hmm...But using it as CTRL would technically be a long press, well the way I use it when pasting sometimes. Unless u tap it once and it would let copy or wutever, then to do it again u have to hit CTRL again. It'll take some playing with

    Thanks

Hopefully in a future release they will make the Speed key configurable as well. It's all software after all.

That can be done with the Speed Key. You can download an app to pull the notification shade and program it to use with the speed key. Eg Speed Key + N
