    Hello,

I was browsing ebay for potential key2 and found this:

    https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...ndition%3D1000

$6.5K, really? I wonder who is their client...

Pretty sure those are the limited edition units that were made by TCL. Only special people need apply. They weren't aftermarket.

What do you mean? The last four BlackBerry-branded devices are TCL devices.

yes it's a key2 - but I'm just surprised this 'limited edition key2' wasn't mentioned on the forum before. like the bronze keyone, or cobalt classic, etc

Lol TCL did NOT add this custom white gold and alligator finish to the KEY2.

It was done by someone else and now they're charging an arm for it

This is where I saw this so called "Luxury Edition" : https://forums.crackberry.com/e?link...token=o5PksLkH

Since this is a common retailer here in Canada I assumed there really was such a factory-made luxury Key2 by TCL. Still not sure?????

I call aftermarket. Look at the pictures, poorly rendered and even in black and white..... also look at the bottom corners of the back cover. What are those? Also not a box in sight.

It's def aftermarket. Just like most of the other gold-plated versions that are out there now and in the past. Most of them come from Vietnam and Indonesia.

But where did those gold-plated (50 of them?) Passports come from? I had assumed (wrongly I guess) that this was a similar thing directly from the manufacturer.

No, you didn't assume wrongly. That was one of the handfuls of times when BlackBerry Ltd actually put something out officially. The limited Edition Passports were official along with the Limited Edition white and gold BlackBerry Q10's. Mostly everything else 'gold' has been created by aftermarket suppliers.

Bah that's nothing. I'm customizing Key2s with snapdragon 855 processors, 8 gigs of ram and 5000 mah batteries. I shall call them, Key2 thick editions.
