I didn't know that I could do swipe with the physical keyboard instead of pressing the letters. Just found the setting in keyboard options. Brilliant!

I tried it when I first got my Key². It was a mess, especially with the pkb issues added to the equation. The phone would get confused when I would do a swipe up word replacement and get a jumble of letters or wrong words. It just didn't work as well as it does on a slab phone vkb.
I hope it works better for you.
to be honest the swipe up is hit and miss
was so much better on the z10 I use to have
Well swipe up word replacement is one of the major complaints of the k2 capacitive keyboard. It's got better over the last 9 months or so but still not perfect.
Have not had the same experience as you. I actually don't have to swipe up to select the word. I only have to take my finger off the keyboard at the end of the word and the word is on the screen without issue. I used it to type this response.
This has not been my experience at all. Mine works great and no swiping up needed.
I don't find my KEY2 to be too bad with swiping up to autocomplete.
Matter of fact, I find it to be at least better than the KEYone, because those glossy keys just didn't allow for smooth thumb movements.
I think you and @Smokeaire are speaking of different things. He is talking about the swipe up under a suggested word to insert, and you are talking about type by swiping?

I am saying that the correct suggested word that I am swiping does not require me to swipe up to input the word. Inputting happens automatically the second my finger comes off of the keyboard.
I guess if you’re happy with the bits that aren’t too great about the phone, anything else will be happiness for you.
Bad stuff get more publicity hence camera, keyboard shortcomings etc. have many threads in here.
it is still flakey
Ever since I got the device I've been having battery problems. Even sent it back to TCL who didn't actually do anything and now I get max 2 hours SOT and the batter does last a full 17 hours or anything near that.
Did you try a factory reset?
Either something's wrong with the software, or the battery itself is defective.
What shows up in the stats at the end of the 2hrs SOT? What's first up there? Display? Android OS? Android System? Cell Standby?
