Same here. Unfortunately switching carriers isn't an option to me so I'm sitting on a new KEY² hoping it gets whitelisted within the next couple of weeks.
God bless you man! You have bigger huevos than me. Switching carriers not an option for me either and I so desperately want to get my fingers on a Key2, but damn it, I just dont trust big red!!

Yeah I had to get it into my hands and try it out. I'll either sell privately or return to Best Buy, haven't taken any plastic off. Bummer is that everything feels solid as far as the keyboard goes. No wobbly spacebar or any of the complaints people have been posting, so I would love to keep it. I'll just roll with my KEYᵒⁿᵉ if it doesn't get whitelisted in 2 weeks.

One weird thought though. Would Verizon's excellent coverage count without CDMA? I mean our Verizon coverage perception was based on voice over CDMA for many many years. CDMA has unique qualities that favors coverage. Would Verizon still shine using VOLTE phone? I bet it evens out nicely. If switching was even an option I would think TMO would be the obvious move over ATT since you will get all the features of the phone. Going from visual voicemail / enhanced calling on Verizon from my Priv to the Key1 was painful
That is the question I've been asking, too. I visit "boonie" areas of the US like the Desert Southwest and even a bit less "boonie" areas (Whidbey Island, WA) where other carriers seem to suffer.

BUT will the loss of cdma coverage change things? I guess we won't know until it happens. And the problem might be that I don't necessarily go to those places often so won't know about coverage or lack of coverage till a visit occurs.

    We shall see.

But I will relate my one day old story regarding Verizon and the KeyONE!!! I was attempting to add an international plan for a few weeks. Can't do it online since the KeyOne is not one of the recognized BB's in their dropdown list. Call - on hold for at least 30 minutes. She is trying to help me, keeps putting me on hold since there is an ISSUE. Somehow she loses me and I'm dumped back in the queue. HOLD.... Someone else answers. She can't activate international for the KeyOne. I explain the phone was used in Norway for three weeks in Jan. More HOLD. She comes back - KeyOne is the issue. More hold. Finally, someone realizes that the KeyOne makes their list. So, not all rosy with Verizon and the KeyOne. From their list, I could probably have gone back to the Priv for the trip and the Z10 (don't recall the Z30?)!!!!

Rant: I'm tired. I have consistently had a BlackBerry and Verizon since my storm, storm2, 9850, z10,q10,z30, PlayBook and PRIV. Not to mention I'm a BlackBerry shareholder. Never left Verizon or BlackBerry but enough is enough. We never can get the phones we want(Motion) or on our carrier. I've been with BlackBerry since day one I just want the phone I want, the carrier I want, and I want the damn thing to work. We have gotten complacent with the short comings on every BlackBerry. Im typing this on my Priv as we speak as it lags and I contemplate throwing at all wall. And then, I think why am I putting up with this?? Why do we create these rooms only to be disappointed later?? Why don't I go buy the fastest biggest newest device out currently without all the problems or waiting or lagging with my BlackBerry. Why am I continuously waiting for BlackBerry to get their **** together and make a decent damn phone???

Please someone give me a true reason to stay with BlackBerry it's been a looooong rough road, looking for a better drive(samsung)!?

    Rant over.

I'm on a business plan and have never had issues adding international calling and data. I'm betting the CSR(s) that handle business plans are top tier which is why you might have run into issues. Do you have the KEYᵒⁿᵉ showing on your account via Verizon, mine shows and it's never been a problem. I'm refreshing this forum as much as possible to see if anyone posts an update about the device being whitelisted.

Well reps and techs and level two techs have never even heard of the phone so I doubt TCL/BBMo even attempted to get it whitelisted so unless some miracle happens, I think it's a dead end. Level 2 tried to manually provision it for me and the phone kept coming up as a non 4G phone.

I was sure that they have my device identified as the KeyOne. It now shows more generically as "BBB-100-3" which is the KeyOne.

I don't believe I had this issue in January for a trip to Norway. And I believe it is okay for the moment. The worst part was their truly dreadful hold music. And then being dumped back into the queue.

Just tried my Verizon tablet SIM in the US Key2 (received today) and get reception but can't call. on chat with Verizon. no help. now calling Account Specialists
That might be because it is a SIM setup as a data only SIM.

I swapped my MiFi card SIM into my KEYone (AT&T) and turned off wifi. I was able to send a BBM but not make a phone call.

I could be wrong but this was my experience last month one I tried.

EDIT: I was able to send a text and not receive a text.

I sent a text from the KEY2 and received it on my AT&T KEYone.

I was not however able to receive a text from my AT&T KEYone.

Are you on wifi while testing? I assume you are still showing no service via a cell tower correct?

Since day one. No pic, Verizon has nothing in system for KEYone. Only see that it recognizes it as BBB100-3 as you noted.

How many unlocked phones are out there? Can't blame Verizon for not filling out a general device info sheet for everyone of them.

There is none in my opinion besides having a physical keyboard. And the keyboard is never coming back in the mainstream so.... yeah. At least BB10 had great UX and the hub which was excellent, but the BB hub on android is a lag inducing redundancy that I think BB should have skipped outright, and android P is finally take up that UX.

So stick with BB for the keyboard for as long as you can or grab a pixel. I hate that it comes to this but I dont see a way out of it.

... oh maybe the battery too but there are other android pones with that.

So it looks like someone got their Key2 to "work" on Verizon but with data only. It's via a different/new thread: https://forums.crackberry.com/blackb...rizon-1151799/. It sounds like they know what they are doing so hopefully they will find a solution to the voice portion as well.

Moderators: It would be great if their posts and input could be consolidated into this thread and continued here to have everything 1 place - thanks.

Hi all just wanted to provide a pointer to another thread where I got my KEY2 "working" on VZW. The only caveat (and it's a big one!) is that no voice works on it yet. I am in data only mode. I haven't figured out how to activate VoLTE.

I too had my data working, on Verizon on Saturday, and it wouldn't drop out of service after I played with the settings. After I got on with customer service they convinced me we weren't going to see the key2 whitelisted any time soon, so I dropped Verizon. Also after they tried to help me get the phone up and running I lost data and couldn't replicate what I had been doing before.

Verizon says that in order to pass its network-compatibility testing, phones have to pass a 3-4 week process that involves “friendly users” in the real world, labs, drivers, and global roaming tests. Once a phone finishes that process, a Verizon SIM will supposedly then work or at least allow the phone to activate.
Guess the question is are there an "friendly users" out there testing the KEY2 for Verizon right now...

Excellent question. But maybe Verizon's "beta" test has a better Non-disclosure than the Oreo beta?

I could test global for a few weeks! (g)

If Verizon pays, I could test it for a few months! (gg)
