They really should follow the Apple and Samsung model and offer a universal unlocked device for North America... I'm hoping that's what they do, would satisfy all potential end users.

When you don't have massive marketing clout, you need the webspace and/or shelf space offered by the carriers. You need carrier plans to make devices affordable for many, and you need carrier support for Enterprise.

Explain the failure of the KEYone with North American carriers then.

Sprint saw abysmal sales, so much that they pulled it. Sprint Enterprise didn't even know about it.

AT&T never had it in store or on shelf. The variant saw limited sales as well.

I don't know the actual Sprint and AT&T numbers. The US is a difficult market for the BlackBerry brand, and it's a process.

CDMA is not required to work on Verizon. Most of their network has been overlayed with LTE by now. You may encounter some VERY rural places where LTE is not working yet, but those are few and far in between. CDMA will be shut down completely between 6/2019 and 12/2019 anyways.

for what its worth: I spoke with a verizon rep just now, that confirmed that the BlackBerry Key2 BBF100-2 is indeed on the Verizon Whitelist, and was added this month to their article of equipment guide. he said that the information will be live on their site soon.

Well what shaped you refer to it as? It's a long haul based on their market share. This is why they are focusing on the regions that they have. They sell more devices in Canada than any other region per capita . It's important to grow those areas first. This is not and never was a quick turn around
