Exactly. I'll keep my swipe shortcuts. And my money.

I think the idea is that the shortcuts are done by the home screen where as if you are typing in email you can just jump to the next app with this button without having to leave the app.

The good thing is we can remap the button to do whatever we want in any screen with Button Remapper!

Shouldn't need Button Remapper for that, BlackBerry Keyboard should allow changing the functionality. I have my right Shift set as CTRL so I think this should be no different.

Quicker to bring over your other hand than to leave an app and look for another.

I'm concerned that the speed key is going to compromise the ability to select text using the shift key and the capacitive keyboard.

I tried to replicate this on my keyone, by changing the cntrl key to the left shift key. This forces the use of the right shift key to select text. But now this is a speed key... so how are we going to select text, and still be able to use the ctrl key to copy, paste, redo, and undo??

Not to mention, having the cntrl key on the left is really awkward when trying to cntrl-z to undo.

I hope they thought of this.

I assume if you can't use the speed key for anything else. Then you should be able to double tap the speed key to lock it

    ...how's press-press-press (speed-speed-shortcut) faster than press-press (Home-shortcut)?

You press the speed button once, not twice. Hold it, hit shortcut, and you're there

I was replying to the suggestion on how to use the speed key one-handed.
