Since the Key 2 supports USB PD 2.0 & it seems like a lot of devices are going going with USB PD. Would it be a better idea today to buy say a 30W USB PD charger, which could very likely be used by newer devices in the next year or so?
I know PD is pretty new technology & there's no way to properly predict where things are going but it does seem like PD is becoming an official standard.
If you want future proofing... you should go with a PD 3.0 Charger that has Quick Charge 4 capabilities.
For future proofing get one with PD profile 4 so it supports 60W. Then it will also charge a macbook or dell laptop, and I assume others.
Ok, so I've been doing some reading but it seems like any PD charger, say a PD 3.0 charger needs to specifically support 9V 2A or the Key2 won't get maximum charging power. Seems like it will revert to only using the next lowest voltage availabe, being 5V 3A.
Can anybody confirm?

Yes... for the KEY2 it really overkill. It would be about future devices.
Does anyone know what PD the Apple 29w/30w usb-c charger puts out?
