For the last few days, as soon as I send an email from any of my Hub accounts, I get this notification from the bottom of the screen: "Save username to Google" with the choice "yes" or "no thanks". I have desync the Gmail app, tried all the options in the Googl app to no avail. This is annoying. Any idea?

This is Google Web & App Activity. To disable, got to Settings > Google > Google Account, see Data & personalization > Web & App Activity > Save your activity from apps on this device

Mine was already set that way. Still get that msg. See screen shot. Unless you mean to turn it off.

Yes, I meant to disable (uncheck) but I see now that doesn't do it... I'm still getting Google notifications. Still working on it.

Just noticed it happens also in Contacts when one edits a contact, when finishing same bloody pop-up notification!

the other thing which is quite annoying is when one starts a new email, one gets a window in the TO: with all of one's own email addresses before one starts typing an address.

We've tried disabling the smart lock password feature and also can't seem to add blackberry apps to the list of apps which won't prompt.

Must be some glitch

its the auto-fill that do this.
settings > system > languages & input > autofill service and select None.

Agreed. It's not a solution at all. Auto-fill is a god send, and one of the best features of Oreo.

Google's Autofill service seems a little too aggressive. We have a Hub fix that we're testing, and we'll look into the Contacts complaint too.
