Thanks for the update...👍 If anything changes let me know please. It appears AT&T isn't on board with RCS yet, at least with the KEY2. No surprise unfortunately... 😰

    Bob
AT&T was working on it a while ago, before Google leaned in to RCS. They came up with their own version, but it didn't go anywhere because that was around the time Google started talking about RCS.

It will take a bit of time for them to move things around and play catch up. I don't think that RCS would be high priority for them.

I get the feeling like it will be a "we'll get it done when we get time to get around to it."

We knew that from the start. It was no secret since the early development days.

I have heard this too but sms has no encryption either as far as I know. So this to me is enhanced sms. Also I get like 10 texts a month if that and from people I dont worry if they read it or not. I also cannot help myself trying stuff but not all are like me not even my boys who are all in there 20s

I have been using it for quite some time now on my KEY2. Rogers implemented it last year (I think). I notice that more an more people have it.... half of my contact show "Chat Message" instead of "Text Message".

Bob: I checked messages/settings/Chat features this morning and it shows "connected", but still no place to enter phone #.

Do both parties need to be using RCS for it to show delivery and read receipts?

    Posted via CB10
Yes, unfortunately. Also isn't compatible with imessage, sends as a regular sms.

has anyone been able to get RCS to work with Keyone on Sprint? I tried the workaround and it wouldn't stick for me for some reason. would just keep 'trying' to connect.

Did you do the work around or is it active from AT&T using the Beta version messaging app?

Is your KEYone an AT&T device?

I'm using unlocked Malaysia variant. Beta version of messages app. Traditional AT&T postpaid consumer account.

I just went in to send a message to a friend and got a pop up to turn on chat features. No intervention required.

I did notice that an update to carrier services was introduced to my device yesterday.

After activation, it sends you to jibe.google.com

Thanks for that information. I just checked the AT&T website and they have an announcement of RCS being available... unfortunately only currently on select devices and the KEY2 isn't listed. The KEYone wasn't listed either.

I have a feeling that it's part of the beta. Slow migration of people onto the jibe platform. If testing is successful, expand the pool of "invitations." Check for breakage and fallout. If that's successful, expand capacity and open up.

I put beta messages on my PRIV (ATT carrier device). Chat features weren't available there.

Funny thing: no carrier services update for PRIV.

If devices have to be approved, I wouldn’t expect to see any non carrier devices as this feature sounds like another enhanced feature.

It might be the case that additional devices will be added as time goes on. The AT&T website indicated that more devices will be added in the future.

Interesting the AT&T PRIV wasn't showing RCS as available as AT&T did support Enhanced Features on the PRIV.

That seems to be the more likely reason... Time will tell.

That may change going forward unless there’s some minimum OS level to support.

I have RCS running on my KEYᵒⁿᵉ and KEY².

I used the early cheat of course, as it's not officially available from Canadian carriers yet.
Are you sure? I'm on Rogers and have had is for at least 6 months or more. I didn't do anything special, it just appeared on Messages one day.
