I'm testing the charging power of my Key2 with different cables using a USB voltage tester & I'm not understanding something.

The cables tested by Benson & Nathan as being certified in their opinion are charging more slowly than an OEM cable I got off of ebay, made by Microsoft for the Surface.

The MS Surface cable with a Benson certified USB C to Micro USB adapter, gives me perfect variable voltage with my Anker QC 3.0 charger. Usually around 7.59V at 2.15A or so.

Where as the Belkin & Orzly cables (tested by those 2 guys), rarely give me proper QC speed & normally just give me 5.21V at 1.9A.

I don't get it? The cables are certified for 3Amps & tested by Benson & Nathan. What am I not understanding here? Why don't they Quick Charge for me everytime I plug them in?

The "Surface" cable you linked is not a OEM cable, it's a Chinese knockoff.

Ok, luckily it seems to be very high quality & it's thicker than 20 or 21 AWG cables I've bought. The cable is claimed to be 19AWG. It's microusb connector is as good as the old 4ft BB OEM cable.

Anybody have any clue why only this cable is consistent in giving me proper QC 3.0 voltage and amperage?

Can anybody confirm that with the OEM cable & charger that they actually consistenly get QC speeds with variable voltage?

I've now bought an Anker USB PD charger & the charging times are still terrible.

Maybe 1/10 times I'll get proper Quick Charge from a USB A port.
