Hi
I find the phone app on my Key 2 slugish and slow in updating calls. For example, when I open the app it can take a few seconds for the previous call made to appear in the history log. Anybody else has this experience?

You need it to be faster, why??
I'm not sure about speed but I find it very terrible app. I tried some others that are better but can be pricey. Has feel of an app that was half developed and then quit. I just tried again and do not notice a speed issue.

hi I installed the v30 and im wondering if the stock phone app from key2 is also GOOGLE PHONE but of a very very old version 10?
Basically, yes.
Thanks, this runs so much better!
You're welcome! :)
Thank you. This looks like the same as the one on my son's pixel 3. Looks much better and I seemed to have managed to get it installed. Have not done an app that was not from playstore. Wish it was possible to delete the old one.

The default version on the Key 2 is 11.0! no wonder why it was so sluggish.
I think every Key 2 owner should install v30 from apk.. it's so much better
Don't forget to set it as your default phone app.
my key2is updated to the latest and yet it still uses v10. big thanks to @Vistaus for the link, I love it!
You're welcome! :)
I have installed this phone app and put the old one disabled. I'm wondering if I should allow this app full permission. I turned it on but now get a warning asking me to allow this. Do any of you see this as an issue? Being it didn't come from play store? Works fine without permissions just not sure the risk.

The only modification to the APK is the removal of the device check to allow installation on non-Pixel devices. So allowing that stuff will only do what Google intended (and explained in that dialog window).
Ok thanks. Of course I didn't really read the window. I trust a lot people here so often just go for it if sounds good. Pretty much figured it would be ok just thought I would throw it out here.

How secure is Google Phone in terms of privacy? Does it transfer information to Google’s servers?
How did you disable the old phone app as I can't disable the old phone app just hide it in launcher
I think we have Google phone now. This is just a later version. Visually same as pie version

You may have to give the other one access first or make it default. Not sure the order I did it in.
