I miss the up arrow as a CTRL button, so I programmed the $ button as CTRL.

But now I miss the $ button, and find and having to hit SYM and then tap $ is cumbersome.

Is there a better/quicker way to get back the $ sign in texts?

Haha! The only one I can think of is swiping down on the keyboard. The $ is right there then.

This is by far the worst thing I can think of about my KEY². I absolutely can't stand the CTRL key on the right!

As for a workaround, I created a custom layout and configured the S key as a $ so now I press SYM (or swipe down) + S.

I haven't programmed my keys. Can I program S for a long press as $ or what's the quickest way to do this? I guess SYM + S is second best. How do ai program for either?

    Unfortunately you cannot.

Custom layout configurations are available in the keyboard settings menu. It works very well!

BlackBerry Keyboard Settings > Advanced > Symbol layout customization

It's pretty self explanatory from there.

It would be nice if they'd add support for all + $ to insert $

Possible but then every time you want to insert a $ sign you will need to erase the space that auto correct creates by default.

I can get to the last step, but then comes up a bunch of emails. How do I assign the S key to the $?

Also, I'd like to do a similar thing w the percent sign, but the percent sign seems to have disappeared???
