I did factory restore to my Key2 Red Edition two months ago after it was recommended by BlackBerry Mobile support when it experienced an overheating issue. I didn't reset the phone since then and kept using my Galaxy S10+ (Android 10).

Today, I'm trying to set up my Key2, and the only backup found is from my very old S7 Edge. I checked Google drive and found the latest back up was from S10+ yesterday night, but it didn't show up in the backups list when I set up my Key2.

I tried to do a manual backup to my S10+ from the Google Drive, but still not showing up in my Key2.

I did another factory reset to the Key2, but still the only back up available is from the very old S7 Edge. I deleted the S7 Edge backup in Google Drive and kept only the one from S10+, but it now shows "No backups found"

Is that because S10+ run on Android 10 and key2 on Oreo?
Any solution to backup my data from the S10+?

    Thanks a lot.

I suspect you are correct. If the backup exists on Google Drive, but you can't see it from your KEY², then it isn't compatible.

    Confirmed. From Google:

"Restoring data varies by phone and Android version. You can't restore a backup from a higher Android version onto a phone running a lower Android version."

    That's not good really.
Do you know other ways for backup?
I already have over 1000 text messages, and I'm afraid the TCL transfer app isn't reliable.

BB10 didn't let you jump around too much between OS version either....

If it's mostly just your text messages, those are pretty easy as long as you have the active S10...
