I mentioned this in the accessories thread. But given that there are so many cables out there that whose build quality are dubious, I felt I needed to mention Monoprice's offering:

    https://forums.crackberry.com/e?link...token=KB-kGkoy

These are 3-amp 30AWG, aluminum extruded ends, and USB-3.1 Gen 2 certified (i.e., carrying the "SS10" symbol) meaning they have a certified bandwith of 10 Gb/s, therefore, making them quite future-proof for the next few years. These come with the required resistor to prevent surges due to incompatabilities.

I have four of these and by far these are the best bang-buck cables I've found. You can tell these are the boss simply by how thick the cables are (5 mm).

For $7.99, it's quite a bargain. Using this cable in combination with a QC3.0 charger does get me a peak charge current of 3400 mA (measured using the Ampere app). 50% charge does come scary fast at around 30-35 mins.

    Just thought I'd share.

Perfect timing. Just upgraded to new phones, and need to replace the various older charging cables.

    THANK YOU!

Most Monoprice cables are good and a great bargain. Every once in a while, the make some that aren't so great, but feedback usually results in changes or new, different offerings. And Monoprice offers a lifetime warranty on all cables.

Great post. Very useful. Any corresponding recommendations for 120 volt chargers?

They go by different brands but I've been using a GS-551 Quick Charge 3.0 adapter with my Key2. Gets me from 5% to 50% in around half an hour and I've verified it to be within safety specs with an in-line USB multimeter.

Beware of cheap/fake/unreliable chargers as they can and will destroy your phone and even start fires.

I strongly recommend Quick Charge v3 chargers from Anker or Aukey, both available from Amazon.

I have a half dozen (I have chargers everywhere, and I have a lot of devices besides phones that use them), and they've been excellent, and get great reviews.

I'm a particularly big fan of dual-port models where both ports support QC3 and will both put out full power simultaneously. I have several of both of these:

And I use these cables to charge all of my various devices, plus whoever is at my house or in my vehicles:

Just a note that the black cables are out of stock until 22 Nov 2018. You'll need to order them in white if you want them now.

    I have the Monoprice Obsidian:

If you dont mind that it has only one port, it's a pretty good deal at $9.99.
