Dear Crackberries,

I recently purchased a new BB KEY2, built on July 27, 2018, and loving it so far (after several years of using Samsungs and iPhones).

The only issue is with the spacebar: it is relatively loose compared to other buttons, with a slightly different sound when pressed. I have read several posts about this issue. Do you think I should replace my device? I'm afraid my spacebar button stops working after some time.

devices with a later production date don't have this issue it seems. This is an issue which clearly was picked up and addressed by TCL. I would request a device with production date December or later.

I would replace it. I originally bought one around the same time and had the same issues plus it had a garage finger print sensor. I went back and a keyone BE then eventually owned a key 2 Le for about 3 months. I now have a key 2 silver with a build date of Dec and it has to 0 issues so my advice to you is replace it!

I wonder if December is the official "to-go-for" dates or maybe even November could have revised spacebars as well... but no one with a November build has reported here yet

I am just concerned about the efficiency of BB Mobile's support, in case I decide to replace the device. This process could take several weeks...

Wondering also about TCL's quality control which seems to be weak...

Could be... however my Black KEY2 with an August 3 build date has no issue with the space bar or fingerprint scanner.

If they offer a replacement because of the wobbly spacebar I would do it. Also sensor issues reported with the earlier models.
