I'm one of the users also "scammed" , buying the international version BBF100-6 through Amazon and getting the India version with PRD-63828-031, so I'm stuck with ABN088.

Is there anything i can do to help someone to make a loader so we can get a universal loader to work and update this version? Im willing to tinker with the phone (been years since the last time i rooted a phone but still remember the basics and been playing with some spare old devices lately).

There is only one more OS you can load on an Indian variant - the April 2019 patch. Keep in mind, it will likely break Google Pay.

This is the only one newer that will load on the -031. But many have reported that it breaks Google Pay.

You have an internal development version. It is completely up in the air as to what it can update to, if anything at all.

The "rooted" part is to make it easier for BlackBerry developers to load certain development software. It isn't fully rooted in the sense that you can install anything you want.

I don't know. You have a rather unique situation.

The root isn't accessible from apps thought, I connected the phone to computer and then run adb root; adb remount and sys partition then writable which allow me to edit the char layout. Is that possible on other devices?
