Imagine the scenario? I live it everyday on my XR now. Don’t worry it’s survivable. I don’t expect anyone jumping from second floor and higher over the matter.

It's definitely looking like I will be having to come to grips with that being a reality when my KEY2 needs to be replaced... 😱

I should start training myself on VKB typing, in case no Key 3 is released, which will most probably be the case, unfortunately...

I agree it’s the hardest 15 minutes you’ll ever spend in your life.

It’s up there with breathing, swallowing and blinking

Life does not have to go on without a PKB. You can always buy a Passport and enjoy in the knowledge that it will be still carrying on regardless of various comments here!

The OP is posting in the Key2 thread so their device has more functionality than Passport most likely in their use case.

Regardless, our comments are simply life won’t stop without PKB as it’s not that big of a deal. Simply wants aren’t needs and there’s no reason to stress.

It will take getting used to, but I think the perils of this transition are ridiculously overblown. Millions of people are quite content and productive with a vkb.

Nope. I absolutely adore my 9930 and its keyboard but I prefer having the whole screen to view content. I read fast enough that the 9930 screen required constant scrolling, and if there were ads in websites it was a nightmare trying to get through a page.

I am aware of the thread, but there's nothing wrong adding my 2 cents here, is there? As to functionality, this is a totally other discussion that has been covered elsewhere, although not always in what you preach. But let's not dwell on that now. Yes, life can be good fun, PKB present or not.

    Cheers!

No, it would really be terrible for those who have experienced it.

For the ones who never did, they wouldn't know what they'd be missing anyway

I haven't used a PKB since 2012, so it would be harder to use a PKB than a VKB at this point.

The BlackBerry vkb is a great keyboard for those transitioning off the pkb.

Another plus for the PKB shortcuts, just makes things easier if you can remember all the proper shortcuts that have been assigned to each keys.

I have to admit I've never quite understand the thinking that just because there's no keyboard there can't be any shortcuts. I can put 144 shortcuts on my homescreen and/or 35 in a dock before I even get to the app drawer.

There's some advantages a PKB has over a VKB but shortcuts isn't one of them.

Sure, I can fill my home screen with app icons. I can't reach them easily though. That, plus the fact that I want my calendar on the home screen.

So don't use the entire grid for apps, put a calendar in the top and apps below - reachable apps and visible calendar.
