Trackpad to replace the navigation bar, yay or nay?
I vote yay. Would be curious to see how that would look and function.
You mean the capacitive keyboard keys, or the nav bar?
Nay. The keyboard is a trackpad, Android and apps hardly calls for it. Adding a trackpad will just take away from giving a bigger screen. Just because it was nice with BlackBerry OS doesn't mean the same with Android.
No, of course not! How would the trackpack replace the capacitive buttons? Maybe you mean the capacitive keyboard! But still they need to make it shorter so they need to start removing stuff like the permanent capacitive buttons and not adding extra stuff. Saving this extra 1cm can eventually give the device a better Look!

Meant the navigation bar. So you end up with a screen size of keyone, with the navigation on screen, and trackpad beneath. I am happy with the keyone screen size, and would love the trackpad back.
Oh ok thanks for the clarification! Could you tell me how do you have in your mind a trackpad replacing the capacitive buttons given that they are part of android?

Surely it could be programmed in. The capacitive buttons still function as they are, while the trackpad underneath works just like it did on classic, such as scrolling and more importantly getting to areas without wasting time trying to extend the finger out to the top of the phone etc
Ok thanks again! I personally wouldn't like it and don't see it happening! I prefer a shorter phone where extending your finger is not a problem!

with better and bigger screen display, no nav bar, better with stereo speakers, with one excellent rear camera.
With BlackBerry 10 a trackpad could sort of work as apps could integrate it with list views and things so there is an advantage. With android I can't see the appeal as compared to just the capacitive keyboard.
So your telling me the capacitive keyboard could be used the same way the trackpad worked on bb10? Can i scroll to the top corners and click and open?
Do speakers matter now that we have headphones?
Guys, you're killing me! Less than 1 year ago I spent $749 CDN on my K1, I just spent $928 CDN on the K2 less than 1 week ago! I would have to be on crack to contemplate spending more cash on the next BlackBerry! Lmao! Ok. so I probably will anyway! I hate you guys! lol.
This is the game we choose to play. Like CBK said in the latest CB podcast, it's something you use every single day of your life. How naked do you feel when you're out and forget your phone at home? It helps you stay organized, entertained and it's something you want to use day in and day out. Suffice to say, open up that wallet.
