The WHY... is because it's their network and their support people handling issues. HUGE responsibility with the customer base that they have. Limiting what devices show up on their network lowers their support cost and any issues their customers might have.

Adding devices... is going to depend on demand. I expect to see more Huawei, Nokia and OnePlus devices showing up via BYOD.
Those seem like high expectations, perhaps Nokia but I doubt it...

I purchased model BBE100-5 from www.gotalkusa.com after talking to Blackberry about where to purchase. I paid to much but my Key1 screen is starting to get lines in it and the operating system is getting buggy. I've worked the phone to death!

I called Verizon and just asked them to provision my new phone for CDMA-Less Feature. They transfered me to level 2 support. The guy knew exactly what I wanted to do. 10 minutes later I was good to go.

Here is a thread on Amazon where 3 comments were very helpful. The first comment is from me but I was able to get my phone working because of the other three comments.

I was just going off what you typed. BBE100 is the Key2 LE and BBF100 is the Key2 or so I thought.

Anyone here know correct for sure?

BBF100 is the Key2 and the BBE100 is the Key2LE. I just checked both of mine.

That link does go to a review comment about the purchase and activation of a Key2 LE according to the Amazon review title.

You are right! My mistake. But, I did use the information there to get my key2 activated. I specifically asked for level 2 support and then for them to provision the cdma-less feature. I used the same sim card that was in my key1. My model is BBF100-2.
