Hello my key2 has been playing up it boots on the android blackberry screen then just hangs on it, I believe it's for some reason related to the mainboard even though it's had no liquid damage

I've tried replacing the battery
I've tried swapping the screen
Tried the motherboard in New housing and still boot loops

As I've swapped the housing, I don't believe it to be a power button issue or volume up/down issue

Any way it can be reset through some kind of software? Otherwise I think I'm out of options

I can get it to boot to the boatloader menu, but with it being blackberry it's not as if I can flash the Rom or anything like that

Would a phone shop have any advanced tools or would they be no better off than me with it being locked to the blackberry Rom?

I'm almost out of options, but I have data on the phone that I want so I can't exactly sell it for repairs, so really could do with somehow getting it to work

It definetly hasn't been damaged even though I've stripped it down many times. Just seems like such a waste as they're still worth 350++ in value, any options?

You said you can get it to the bootloader menu.... so have you tried reloading the OS?

This is the only menu I can get into sometimes but very hard work to pull it off successfully maybe only like once every few hours I'm hoping I can still get it to popup, are you saying you may be able to reload the os if I can manage to get it to this screen?

Perfect. Stay at that screen and run an autoloader.

Check your box to see what the device PRD number is, and I'll give you the right one.

We'll play it safe then. This one will work on any but the Indian variant:

I have the same 4 day problem as yodjone's, can you please help me in more detail with the steps to run this autoloader? Are all data on the device and photos deleted? I bought the device in the UK. Made in China.

Im stuck on this message, do I need any additional software/drivers? If I need to change a setting on my key2 then im screwed as I cant go beyond the black bootloader screen

Is the phone plugged into the computer? It seems like the PC isn't communicating with the phone.
Select reboot to fastboot to see if it catches.
Or try a different cable, USB port, and/or computer.

Edit: Yes I believe you do need drivers, let me see if I can find a link.

Full disclosure had an accident with it the other week and the screen needs replacing which I can do, but ive just updated the android drivers and flashed it, sadly it still doesnt work. I wonder if the memory is bad on it or something. Dont see how it could be though! Still trying to think of an idea

Still greeted with this screen even after using the bootloader. I used flash all with no wipe. Fyi definetly isnt the broken screen causing this. But if I do find a solution I will be replacing the screen straight away. Any ideas?

Oh. You would need to flash using the wipe option to fully confirm it's hardware related.

You mean full wipe including data? I will try this. I had some crypto on it with a passphrase but since ill never be able to retrieve that then worth a go as id rather have the blackberry back than the data

Fyi im using a key2 now but its on its last legs. Ariel struggles to pick up 4g as its glued on and spacebar is gone. So if I can get this one working again I would go back to it. Since theyre getting rarer all the time would be a godsend

OK from the side of the PC, the PC sent everything with the mark OK, it got stuck on Key2...

Showed the "Blackberry" logo 2-3 times, after that it's been spinning circles, squares and triangles for 2 hours???
I can't break that loop.

I manage to turn it off, but when I turn it on, it shows the logo and starts spinning circles, squares and triangles again without stopping...

With a long shutdown I can bring it to the 4-item bootloader menu...

This autoloader works on 87 of the 88 production variants of the KEY². Only the Indian variant won't work.

When and from where did you buy this device?
