I have a Key2. When I hit settings then sound. Then it just retreats to the home screen

Hold the power button for 32 seconds then try again.

Go to settings, apps and notifications, tap see all xx apps at the bottom, scroll down and tap the Settings app. Go into storage and clear the cache, the go back once and hit force stop. Try again.
If that fails, do all the steps above just also clear data (all your existing settings will be lost).
If the issue survives I can think of nothing short of a factory reset.
