It's only eight weeks. Probably won't be that long. This is like a device release and is more like a worst case scenario.

You may be referring to my post regarding the BBE100-5 and a possible influence from Verizon.

That said, all BBE100-5 are now updated to at least April.

As you recall I had a bootloop issue and had to do a full wipe and load ABO927 to fix it. So I may have to wait for a working autoloader to get back in sync with current updates. I guess I can do another factory rest (ugh) and see if that will work.
Btw: I'm enjoying my padded cell.

There is more to this. My unlocked KEY² was smashed in a parking lot. I decided to go for the Key²LE mainly because of cost and for the non-capacitive keyboard. I order the unlocked GSM version (Slate). It turns out that even though it may be unlocked it is beholden to ATT for updates. Not what I wanted. So I put in a return and went for the International unlocked champagne model. What I received was the Slate India version.
After searching for hours I couldn't find what I wanted so I canceled the GSM Slate return and sent back the India phone.
So now I'm stuck hoping ATT will issue a security update sometime in my lifetime.
I even thought I would spend the extra bucks and get another KEY² and suffer through the keyboard frustration but couldn't find another unlocked version as my first.
The writing is on the wall. The available phone models for sale (Best Buy/Amazon/BBMo are becoming very limited.

How on earth did a KEY2 LE end up locked to AT&T??? That doesn't make sense, as they never carries that phone.

Hades if I know. For the last 10 years I've bought unlocked phones that are free from carrier restrictions. I'm not a happy camper.
Tonight I might do a factory reset and see if I get the update now.

Same thing happened to me. They kept pushing the delivery date until they told me it is no longer available from the manufacturer.

Actually, the -001 is the ONLY BBE100-5 to have received ABP305 naturally.
