Nice! Kind of like when Apple released the 5C as a more affordable alternative to the 5S

Red K2L for those hanging on to their Red Passport, Blue K2L for those on their Cobalt Blue Classic, and Bronze for... those who really wanted the Bronze Classic lol

Hey the $400 price Android Central guessing would be a nice entry point.... but I have no confidence that BBMo is going that low. In the end it will be better specs than the KEYone.

I just realized that the BlackBerry logo and camera ring are not in red like the trim, which would definitely be a shame. I don't like when they go the route of unfinished trim / color uniformity just like on Bronze KEYone which doesn't have Bronze logo, camera ring or keyboard frets

I wonder if they'll use the 625 again. Hopefully something better than that though.

Probably. It's more the direct successor to the KEYᵒⁿᵉ. Hopefully $499.

So is this the "third" keyboard device that TCL has been talking about all this time?

The android central article says a 400 series......ouch!! It better be around $250 if that's the case.

    Weirdest decision ever.
Who would want a worse species KEY2?
Whilst my KEY2 runs well and I have no issues with performance, it seems odd that they'd offer a device below this when this is already mid range.

I'd have rathered a high end one as an alternative with a better screen, better chip and better space bar.

It's all about price point. They need to offer something more affordable.

I get that. I just think why would they choose to make a low end device which could cannibalise sales of the OG KEY2, when they Key2 really could be priced lower anyway.

I don't think the KEY² CAN be priced any lower. Economies of scale just aren't there.

Maybe they had a plan in place - where if the Key2 sells really well, they release a high end model, and if it sells really poorly they sell a low end model.

It does seem like a lot of units are being returned.

The two devices were developed together and first appeared in leaks last December.

This device was also spotted in the EaeUnion database back in January.
