Well my key2 is settled, she's running smoothly and without any issues. I've not had to do the developers trick, not needed it. Very pleased indeed.

All in all if your on the fence , it is a worthy upgrade to the keyone. I will be very happy if blackberry mobile continue to produce to produce devices, maybe bringing new features and things in future devices. I would love either hardware buttons where the navigation keys are, or get rid of them completely in favour of swipe gestures as in Android pie.

Then extend the screen real estate, where the navigation buttons are.

I'd still suggest the developers trick.
You will notice the different straight away.
Why settle for good when you can have better?

Go into Settings -> System -> About Phone -> tape build number 8 times until it says you are a developer, then go back into System -> Developer Options and scroll down till you see the 3 animations which will be set to 1x. Just set all 3 of them to 0.5x and enjoy a snappier device.

Absolutely not, there are zero risks/downsides to turning the animations down to 0.5x.

What does it do by turning animations down to 0.5. What does it physically do to the UI? it has definitely made it snappy!!!!

It decreases the animation effect length.

I didn't realize that the KEY2 needed snappierness?

Is anyone experiencing slowing down of the phone over time? I thought the KEY2 held its own very well.

Why doesn't BlackBerry do that from the start? will it affect the resolution of the device or anything else related? Also if for any reason I were to choose to switch back from developer mode how would I go about that?

I've never heard of that, but you can always turn the animation adjustment off and re-start the device.

You go into developer options and turn the on toggle to off, simple as that.
