The KEY2's camera is one of its weaker points, especially when comparing to a flagship Samsung/Pixel/iPhone. I can't remember off the top of my head any direct (side by side) comparisons between the Note 8 and KEY2 camera, though.

The question about what is "much better" is relative. Some here can live with a camera that is below flagship level, others wouldn't rely on a smartphone for quality photography period. Still others will use a BlackBerry for work and carry a second device for photos and media consumption. Its all relative to the user, and how important the camera is to you.

I think it goes without saying the main selling feature in terms of hardware on a BlackBerry is the keyboard, not the camera. So potential buyers should temper their expectations accordingly.

I find the Key2 camera to be better than an iPhone 7+ for daytime, well lit photos. For night photos or and low light, the camera is more like an iPhone 5 or 6. The selfie camera is standard fare - they were never very good on iPhone IMHO so I don't feel it is a downgrade.

I have never used a Note, so can't compare. Hopefully this helps.

Its 2018! Phones from 2014 or 2015 should have come with a good camera, especially at this price.

Having came from the note 8, no, the camera on the KEY2 isn't in the same league. The KEY2 can take some good shots in manual mode, but the photos when zoomed, at times are grainy. It's difficult, as I don't take that many photos and I'm certainly no pro, but when i do take a photo, I need a guarantee I'm going to have a darn good opportunity to get a good shot. I feel with the KEY2, I am always worried about the quality.

No. I'm so mad my iphone SE does not come with a PKB. Or that I can't have dark mode in any of my apps. Or that i have some very limited customization options.
I need to suck it up and enjoy the many good things about iOS. And there are many. Same goes for you KEY².
And the camera's more than adequate, let's stop the drama.

It's not about more than adequate. It's about why the camera is still worse than the previous models in 2018. Each generation of a product is supposed to be better than previous generations. Clearly it is not the case in BlackBerry phones.

He is clearly going through all the effort, and I'm just pointing out that one small extra step will make it orders of magnitude more useful. I'm not scolding him by any means.

My suggestion is beneficial to all other potential posters as well.
