Last year, as many of you already know, we had a screen lift megathread for those with the issue, and judging by the user feedback and TCL's statement, we came to the conclusion that early builds before a set date were somewhat equally affected, and later units after that date were 100% problem-free.

That date was July 10th, 2017

This year, some early adopters reported having some issues with their KEY2, namely the spacebar feeling wobbly/loose.

The point of this thread is to gather as much data as possible to try to determine a set date where units built after that date are rock solid, with none of the early issues.

You can find the assembly date for the unit in the MMI test / Traceability menu
1. Dial *#2886#
2. Press the MANU red button
3. Touch the "Traceability" menu
4. Hit PASS

You should get something like this, where the bottom line is a date of assembly:

20180529
YYYYMMDD

5. Hit PASS again
6. Scroll to the bottom and hit Exit

Once you have the build date, you can post here in something like this format:

For example:
Model: BBF100-1 Silver

Build date: 20180506

Issues: Wobbly spacebar

If you have had several units, please feel free to report the build dates of each of them, not just the first one or the replacement.

Looking forward to seeing a pattern between problematic units and build dates.

I think there is a point though. It might give a sense of roughly how pervasive the issue might be for devices of a given build date.

The more data points the better.

15th June and no issues with build quality. Purchased in the UK.

The only issue I face is weak reception (at least at the places I move about).
Also, when I make calls using the headphones, I hear a nerve breaking static noise when the other guy talks.
Apart from this, I am very happy with it and love to use it (when it's possible at least!)

There seems to be no pattern of which batch has the space bar issue and which doesn't. Some devices seem to have the issue, while others with the same or similar production date don't.

@all who reported no issues: are you sure you checked out the space bar? It might (still?) work properly (except some reports on lags), but it wobbles, almost like a loose baby tooth. It's significantly different than all other keys, which feel rock solid.

If this trend continues, then it looks more like a general QC issue, and not the problem of a particular batch.
