Thinking of going to the dark side. bigger screen for bigger fonts. getting on years to the tired old eyes. Using the key2 only for the last 2 months coming from keyone and from all Blackberrys all the way back to 2005.
I’m replacing iPhone 5 with some new iPhone but not sure which. I already have KEYone so Key2 doesn’t seem practical for my second line.

Ordered the iPhone xs max awhile ago. We'll see. Not available until the 9th of October though.

I’m looking at the 8Plus or XR. The XS and XSMax are more phone than I need.

It's been a couple days with my XS Max and I like it. At first I thought it was too big and I wanted to go to the XS, but it's growing on me. I find it better than the Note 9 and Pixel 2 XL. For work though, I can't stop using my BlackBerry. Keyboard, battery life, and the hub are unmatchable.

Which network are you on? Are you using the e-SIM or a physical SIM?

I'm on Bell in Canada and using physical SIM for now. I think e-SIM support comes in the fall.

Did you try registering your device on e-SIM? They already support the Apple watch and the iPad, shouldn’t be too much more complex.

The physical SIM would then be a nice feature traveling abroad!

    I don't know.

Table or toaster - which would you choose?
I’d choose the toaster for it’s shock value.

where do you get your price comparison from Bob? key2 is currently £469 vs £749 for 64gb XR but who is actually going to buy a 64gb phone with no upgradeable storage? so realistically it is the £799 128gb XR that's the comparison and that's a £330 difference not £100

    LOL....

I’m now leaning towards XR since there’s only $50 difference on 256gb versions on AT&T unless I’m missing something. I’ll still dual carry with KEYone but I wonder if the XR will also have the e-SIM

Key2 cost 650 USD and the XR is expected to launch at 750 USD.

I have a 64 GB iPhone 6S Plus with 13,000 pictures on it, linked to icloud. Also have hundreds of apps including the entire office suite. And still have 10 GB to spare!

BTW the Key2 comes with 64GB of storage so you should compare with a 64GB device!

My understanding is that only the XS has ESIM, unless I missed something.

If your really want your PKB fix on an iPhone, the only way is to find a Typo keyboard case but those are only for 5/5S/SE and 6/6S (and 7/8 with some modification).

As you know, I have the SE + Typo combo and it's just nowhere near the level of a KEY device.

If I may ask, what's your KEYone not doing well that pushes you to an Xr ?

I’ve dual carried for years. Since BBAndroid, I’ve even dual carried two DTEK since I’d become reliant on using two phone numbers. I was scaling back to one line and the KEYone was going to be single line. Because of the recent WFC and VoLTE issues, that’s no longer possible. My second line had been A30Plus since I thought factory unlocked had been way to go. Same issues without the WFC and VoLTE. So I switched to old iPhone 5 and still no enhanced calling since too old for WFC support.

My family uses iPhones and enhanced calling features means I’m the last one relying on Femto mini tower. Since that’s being phased out, I need at least one supported device and new AT&T iPhone XR will be the choice unless some other better AT&T device that supports WFC and VoLTE comes along.

Passport and KEYone/2/LE have the same 4.5 diagonal. The Passport just has the unique 1:1 aspect ratio while the others have 3:2

Sold my iPhone X to and got the Note 9 then sold my Note and got the Key 2. I aged with the XS Max last night and was disappointed. Felt heavy. Ios 12 was just more of the same. And it is in way unique. For the the key2 is much better. Not to say it's best for everyone as everyone uses their phone differently. Just in my use case I'm better suited for the BlackBerry.
