if you're on the fence...

I've been using BB for 10 years. Last phone was the PPSE and I finally got the Key2. There's some learning, and the gestures aren't the same, but I can do so much more now. The battery is ridiculously good!, even with being able to actually use apps. Once you sort out how to open and close stuff, and set it up, it's a gem. Getting the old muscle memory from smaller keyboards is taking a bit of time, but actually it's fine. So, negotiate a deal with your carrier, and move on! I've had it for two days, and already making things better! All the winers and haters probably don't even have the phone. Totally worth it.

I'm the same as you, had BB foreverN went Droid, now back with this key2. It's been just over 2 weeks and I'm almost there, not quite. One thing I thought I'd never use is this flick up gesture. I've found myself using it more and more every day.
Another thing I'm hooked on is the "double tap" the keyboard for the cursor function to edit text. Although, there ain't much editing needed with this keyboard.

And it charges so fast!
Even on regular charging mode.
