The phone arrives today, but I just realized he listed the prd number in the description! PRD-63828-019. Am I safe?
Still double check and verify the actual PRD on device itself and don’t trust any of the packaging. Unfortunately, too many issues just in general when resellers are dumping unsold inventories going back to PRIV days on Amazon or eBay for example.

Well guys, I was bait and switched. PRD ends in -031 and my latest update is 12/2018. I'm going to reach out to the seller to see if he/she will be open to a partial refund of some kind. I really don't want to continue to hunt for a god price on the KEY2. I think I'll keep it and load the April autoloader. Phone seems to be running great otherwise.

    $479USD is even more suspicious
I didn’t mean it that way. Either currency would be suspicious.

I’d send it back and get refund, but it’s your money and your choice

When you get it, let us know what's the build date and how the spacebar feels.

You can find the assembly date for the unit in the MMI test / Traceability menu

    1. Dial *#2886#
    2. Press the MANU red button
    3. Touch the "Traceability" menu
    4. Hit PASS

You should get something like this, where the bottom line is a date of assembly:

    20180729
    YYYYMMDD

    5. Hit PASS again
    6. Scroll to the bottom and hit Exit
What is the date they changed them? I just picked one up and it is 2019 01 31

Yeah it's going back. Spacebar was missing clicks.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you end up finding a dual SIM key2. It's a great device.

Yeah it's tough to find one at a reasonable price. I'm on the edge of buying a refurb/pre-owned for under $400, an LE for $279 from best buy, or just biting the bullet on the red edition for $900+. My Keyone badly needs to be replaced.

EDIT - Paypal offering 24 months at 0% APR enticed me. I bit the bullet on the red edition. Stoked!!

Hmm, never seen such a build date before.

    How does your spacebar feel?

Nice and firm like the other keys?

There is zero reason to buy an Optiemus Indian KEY2... unless you're in India
and even then, not a great idea.

just get a key2 black when the price goes down after the MWC

KEY2 prices don't really go down as slab pricing logic doesn't apply to it...

I got a really good offer last year in december here in Germany for the Key2 dual sim with a contract.
I had to pay 1 € for the BlackBerry and 20€ per month for the contract, in sum 480€ for the International dual sim variant.
The contract includes 5 GB data and unlimited phone calls.

I'm a Key2 newbie after my KeyOne dove to the toilet. I just remembered that i have a dual sim version. I didn't really look for one, but it was the only BB phone available where I bought it.
Anyway, sorry for the silly question, but where do you insert the 2nd sim? Is it the one on top beside the headphone jack input?

the dual SIM phones have a 2 slot tray. you can use the second slot for the 2nd SIM or an SD card.

Oh I see, so you can't have 2 sims and an SD card all at the same time? Got it.
What's that small hole beside the headphone input?

to reset the phone. a typical mistake is to stick a pin in there to open the SIM tray!!!

I've got the key2LE red dual SIM. good option. Works great and is much cheaper than a key2. just no capacitive keyboard. if interested, do a search here to find all the specs, etc.
    Good luck

Aaah ok, I thought that was for the 2nd sim slot, too, actually I was looking for that LE version, but the store I went to only had this black Key2, the only BB unit they had, so I got this one. I just realized now that it is a dual sim kind, so yeah. It's a good thing I asked in here about that small hole, cos I just finished setting up this phone.

    Thanks, man! Appreciate it!

and I can put up with the EOL this year, although 700€ is a bit OTT, but will I get a wobbly space bar and glitchy PKB?

I want to stay with PKBs but price-quality makes us look like right mugs.
Same here - been looking for ages and finally pushed the button today. Got sick of the PRIV that I love needing 3 charges each day and having the common 'please insert a SIM' error when on voice calls. Now waiting for delivery of a black 128 later this week and hoping like hell the build date is recent and the space bar is firm! Wish me luck ...

Where did you order it from?

As far as I know, there are Black BBF100-1 and BBF100-6 units out there with recent 2019 build dates and revised spacebars.

It's a UK qwerty (hopefully) from Buyur via the main BlackBerry site. Never used Buyur before but guessed they're not 'grey market' on the basis of being linked to by BlackBerry.
