I'm 4.5 months into this Key2. Overall I'm pretty happy. I tried to un-google this phone as much as possible.

I basically don't want google watching, recording and controlling everything I do.

I thought I had disabled some stuff. But then I realized that browser ads on a 3rd party browser are rammed with ads from stufff I've been searching.... not cool.

Can someone give me a checklist of things I can disable without going as far as making the phone totally useless?

Good luck. Keeping it 100 though, I'll state the obvious. You're still using an Android device and Google is still watching. Your best efforts are only minimizing the impact.

FireFox or Opera as default browser rather than the Chrome? which integrates into your Google ID.

That's a huge feat my friend. Google services are deeply imbedded in android phones.

It's very simple. Just disable Google Services.

I'm using "Keyboard Browser" for all my browsing. It's really similar to the BB10 stock browser which i found good.

I disabled all Google services and Google play services.
And installed the Blokada App from F-droid, which blocked nearly 70.000 trackers (as Google ads, and so on) in 5 weeks.
    I feel better now

Slightly off topic, but how does Blokada effect your battery life? I assume if your trying to remove Google Ads and junk from your phone, there isn't much other alternatives?

Battery life seems to be better. But hat might be a psychological thing
