I am having problems getting on my networks.
Wish I could help you. When I went from my prior device to my Priv -- I had to enter passwords for all of the networks I used -- including home and office. I didn't know you could transfer passwords for networks. Sorry.
If you "copy device data from another device" when setting up your new phone, that information will come with it.
Yep. I have Wi-Fi logins on my phone that were entered 2 phones ago. Which is important as I take care of a ton of networked equipment for my customers and I mostly use my phone to do it.
Didn't know you could do that. I know I can transfer contacts, emails, and texts, photos too I guess...but I didn't know you could transfer passwords for networks. Thanks!!!
How do you copy device data?
When you first crank up a new device, it'll ask you if you'd like to set it up as a new device, or copy device data from an existing phone. It's not in those exact words, but the idea is the same.
I used BlackBerry content transfer. All my contacts music, emails , etc came over but not my wifi passwords.
so what's the difference?
I was bored and thought you were full of it so I wiped my phone and started it fresh today. I did see the option and chose it and was surprised that many of my setting did restore. Not all and not my messages etc... just phone logs.
I guess their trying but iOS restores your desktop, signon's and basically puts your device back like it was. I would sure love for Google to give that option even if it means giving up space on my google drive.
Those things don't restore with the option jamesharmeling listed, you have to do those separately. I understand music and photos but how much space can a text message or contact take up???
