    hi,

can anyone provide steps on how to disable the RADIO app? it keeps on reloading even if the AUTOMATIC APPS setting of the app is OFF.

this app kept on showing up after few minutes in POWER CENTER - MEMORY even if I force close it.

It takes up 205KB of storage. I wouldn't get too worried about it.

its not the storage or memory space it uses that im concern about, its the battery consumption that bothers me.

8% battery since full charge means my battery only got around 92% for apps that Android need + apps that I need. quite a waste.

Strange, as it's never appeared on my battery list.

Same issue on my KEY2. Hadn't noticed it before, but it does use quite a bit of battery despite the fact that I never use it :/

    Hello,

It may not actually be the radio app which is causing the battery drain, but any one of the other 20 or so system apps linked via the 1000 system UID.

You can disable the radio app, or any app for that matter, using the XDA method via ADB.

How many days of battery life are you getting otherwise? If you are not using the phone and let it sit idle the radio app will still use some power, along with several other functions. To better analyze your issue please provide us with more screenshots showing battery status.

    normally 24-26hrs, normal use.
attached is battery graph, fully charged 8-9hrs ago, and you can see 7hrs56m in idle state and have approx 15hrs left. I believe the prediction remaining hours is from average usage.

Hope this isn't a stupid question, is the radio app optimized for battery use. After reading your post I just checked my own settings for the radio app.

No that was problem. I would leave my bedroom forgetting to hit power off button. My bedroom was across hall from my dad's office and he wasn't the big fan of Iron Maiden and Motley Crue and other like bands. It became a running joke that escalated from hiding the power cord to cutting the power cord to ultimately, the hammer incident .......

Lol. I remember something similar about my father trying to stop me and my older brother from listening to late night music on the radio Luxembourg and radio Caroline back in the mid seventies, he hid the power cord but forgot about the radio having batteries

Thanks a lot! I not only disabled the Radio app, but most other stuff mentioned in the thread. Not sure about battery life yet, but everything is much, much more fluid now! The whole Android nterface, apps, everything! It's like a "you won't believe it 'till you see it" kinda thing.
