Your phone SHOULD have facial detection and you should not be able to do that.

I believe he's talking about the physical mute button on the side, which I and many others touch way too often. Wish it had a double click function to activate.

I never had this problem on my BlackBerry Classic. They should bring back physical buttons for accept call and end call.

So this happens to me all the time so what I started to do once I dial to start the phone I minimize the phone app and double tap the screen to turn it off.

I hit the convenience key all the time and mute and I'm considering a dismantling the device and making the button not work. It does NOTHING for me but get in the way.

Don't pull your face away from the screen. At least that is my experience with the KEYone.

I have the same problem with the mute button on the screen and the mute 'feature' of the convenience key. As someone suggested, to mute using the convience key they should have made it a double click. I am seriously considering superglueing the convience button so it doesn't work.

Just train your thumb to not rest on the convenience key while on a call

Maybe hold the phone with your other hand on the opposite side of your head so your fingers are far away from the mute button.

I have the exact problem. It seems that the facial recognition on the key2 is not doing a very stellar job

You can just disable it altogether using KeyMapper app.

I believe that's the reason for a setting to make the proximity sensor shut the display when on a call ...see about setting that to also disarm the mute button... others smarter than myself may see a way to do it

What they are saying is that the KEY2 has a physical mute button on the side, and that you are accidently pressing it. You should try to avoid it by shifting your hand to a different position on the phone.

No I am really not sure. My though was that is WAS an on screen button, but others seems to have indicated its a physical button. Are you moving the phone away and then back towards your face when you are talking? That might cause the screen to turn on (it should turn OFF when it detects your face), and maybe not turn off quick enough when you move your face back in close?

I believe this was my problem with the K1. Whether I was to quick or the response was too slow, I have been very careful and it hasn't happened in a long time now.

Ah, ok. I get it now! I have never used the screen mute, therefore didn't even know it was there. Lol. My issue was holding the phone in a way that triggered the physical button. Hopefully it's an easy fix. Cheers,
