    Hi guys,
Anyone with a Key2 tried another camera app? TCL clearly messed up with it, so why not try it? Is it even possible?
    Thanks for a try

I wonder if alternative camera apps don't work because of Locker mode?

I use the “Better Camera” app on my K1, and before that on my Priv, and I really like it. It offers all of the features of a DSLR camera as far as sharpening, color correction, cropping etc. It’s free so you can try it out. I got the paid version, both because it’s so good and to get rid of the ads. I’m on the fence about getting a Key2 so I’d be really interested in finding out if it corrects the quality problems I’ve been reading about, although I expect future updates to fix a lot of them.

hmm, I really wonder if the algorithm in another app beside the TCL stock can mitigate the issues or if we are bound to the stock. for me that would be a deal breaker...

Even if it did work, the K2 doesn't have the same processor so would it even make a difference?

The 660 is sufficiently capable of using the Pixel camera, but API2 isn't supported on the KEY².

So would it make sense to test another app at all, or are we bound to TCL updating their crap software by an update? @conite there is no way to activate API2 I guess, even using USB?

TCL shall enable this API and that's it.

Have a look at other phones with 660 processor and google camera, they all improve up to another level.....

I have been using camera zoom fx. I find the image processing a little better than on the stock app. Found the following toggle in the settings. But the enhanced settings are actually greyed out which means we definitely have no access to the new api Has anyone tested another camera app with the KEY2?-1531072256940-2.jpg

My comment is about rooting a BlackBerry. Won't happen.
