I haven't checked out these forums in a long time. The good news is my KEY2 has been solid and a big improvement over my laggy KEYone.
Has anyone heard when we'll get the Pie update? I heard it should help with battery life and multitasking.

Not until next year I would imagine.
Agreed. I would set my expectations towards the 2nd half.
Treble might speed things up this time though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
True. It would be very nice to see that happening!
What's treble?
Trebble is a Joke, like every broken promise from Google.

Treble makes it easier for TCL to slap Pie onto the KEY2/KEY2LE, but unfortunately doesn't force them to.
How so?
OnePlus 6 is a great example of the benefits of Treble. They took only 45 days to develop their Pie update.
Also, If the they don't have to start from scratch midway again this time.
Yes, that certainly didn't help.
Did they have to with Oreo? That's interesting...can you share the details for that story? Or maybe it was posted here?
Luckily, according to Michael Fisher, TCL promised Pie for the KEY2 at launch. Now I know promises can be broken, but at least we know that it *might* be coming.
I was reading that Sony had started rolling out P to its XZ2 models but without the gestures. There is even speculation whether they’ll be included at all in future updates. I know this is not a BB focused qyestion but how is that even possible ? A partial roll out of P??
The started with 8.0, but changed to 8.1 along the way.
Maybe because of Treble?
That would terrible if BlackBerry goes down that route. I mean gestures is a prime feature P, something I am sure many users are longing for, especially BB10 converts.
I am also sure BlackBerry are aware that people would love to have this feature on their KEY². It would be a great shame if they decide to leave that feature out...
But that would make the capacitative row redundant.
Plus unless google changes their stock gestures, BlackBerry is better off not implementing it. Or at least it should not be forced like the pixel.
I read the thread but if there I didn't see it explicitly stated: Does Key2 support Treble?
..Tom
Anything that launches with Oreo or newer installed from the factory must have Treble enabled, so yes.
Disable the capacitive row when gestures are turned On.
So just have a random black bar, if it's even possible to? KEYone would be even worse, because the symbols would still be there for sure.
A. It's totally possible.
B. KEYᵒⁿᵉ is not getting Android P.
Don't get to exited, gestures stock Android Pie are a joke, very bad and I rather use buttons before using that!
Xiaomi gestures on the other hand are awesome! Maybe OnePlus 6T gestures are awesome too!
BlackBerry needs to implement the BB10 Gestures on the KEY3 and get rid of the stupid nav bar! Other companies are doing it with Android 8.1 not even Android Pie. They are just a bunch of lazy people at TCL.
