I see this site pdaplaza.ca is now taking pre-ordes for the Key2. I just wanted to know if anyone out thee has delt with them in the past and what their thoughts are about pre-ordering from them.

When the KEYone launched they also did pre-orders. Never heard any complaints, but certainly wait for others to chime in.

pdaplaza.ca is a prominent web retailer. There's no issue till date reported by anyone.

The only comments I remember were positive around service and delivery. I'm down in Florida so I'm not in their sphere.

You might want to read through the Canadian Waiting Room forum here where I posted the pre order link and asked the same question. A few people responded that they either knew people who purchased BlackBerry phones from PDA Plaza or knew people who did without any problems. That along with several other online positive reviews was enough for me to place an order, so I guess I will find out for myself in about a month .

Note that PDAPlaza are only offering the Silver/Black 64 GB dual SIM (BBF100-6) versions.

Any idea if that version works well with the Canadian networks?

I'm with CityFone (Rogers) and checked to make sure it carried the band's for them. I'm not sure about the others but Thurask posted an excellent post about all of the Key2 variants so you could check it against your carrier.

For Telus, the BBF100-6 Dual SIM is missing LTE bands 29 and 30 which I believe are used for carrier aggregation.

I presume that would result in lower download speeds in certain areas, not sure though, maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

As Richard said, check the other thread for some feedback regarding PDA Plaza. I placed my order yesterday with my Visa. Hopefully it ships out before August.

There's a bunch of us on here with PDA pre-orders now. Should be fun once they start shipping them out and we're obsessively refreshing our browsers in hopes that the tracking status will change!!!

Band 30 in the US is used by at&t at very high altitudes. Literally airplanes from what I remember.

    Ok thanks, one less thing

So that means Telus only uses bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 13, 17 & 29 for LTE. Any thoughts on the impact of using the BBF100-6 (without band 29) on the Telus network?

PSA: PDA is now listing the KEY2 at $805. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets to the $829 MSRP by the end of the week.

BBF100-2 is the right model for Canada so it's a peculiar choice to list the -6.

Does the dual SIM delete the SD card slot?

Yes, the SIM tray is a combo tray. It can fit two SIM cards or one SIM and one SD card. It can't accommodate two SIMs plus and SD card.

They must have just changed. I had checked this morning just before I posted the earlier message. I was primarily checking to see if PDA Plaza was carrying any other variants but a quick scan through their online catalogue seems to indicate they specialize in unlocked dual SIM phones.

I guess I should have jumped on the bandwagon a while ago. When I first looked at this site the going price was just under $800 but I see this morning that its now up to $850. I shoulda clicked sooner I guess.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. This price is for the dual Sim variant. If you only need a single SIM, the Canadian carriers will have it unlocked at $829 (or less depending on what promotions they're running).
