So, as soon as the Lens App came to K2 I shelved it and did not think twice about it. Today, out of curiosity or boredom, I opened it and tried it. Wow! What a cool App! Not perfect and misses stuff to identify. That being said, I found it quite useful and a lot of future potential. For example, point it at a business card and see what happens. Pretty cool,

It's awesome for art too. My parents have this photo of Dizzy Gillespie in their house and I knew it came from a famous photographer who released a book of photos, but I couldn't remember the name of the book. Just pointed camera at it, and Lens pulled up the phototographer and associated books.

I have a K2 (BBF 100-2) with the latest update on Bell (AB1067), and when I open the Lens app I get the message “Thanks for updating. Lens will be available soon. Please try again later.” Anybody have any idea why this would be so? Thanks.

I'm getting the same message when trying to open google lens. It works on photos already taken. I have no idea what is causing the message.

When it first happened I did a Google search and found a story that it wasn't yet compatible on all platforms so I thought that must be the reason. The posts by Bla1ze and Crusader made me think that it was working on the K2.

It is. It's built into the camera of the KEY2 and the app can be downloaded as well. Depends on your frimware version however.

So is there a way to disable it? As in, remove it from the camera app?

Ever since I turned on the Google lenses, my camera stopped functioning. When I turn on the camera, it only has the interface. I can't take any picture, the touch screen doesn't work except Google lenses. I have to go back to my home page, hold the camera icon for a few seconds the a small pop up show up with 3options: manual, video and scanner. cam someone tell me how to reset?

I decided to try uninstalling and reinstalling Google Lens. After I uninstalled it, it was still installed and the playstore indicated there was an update.

I did not update Google Lens and now it works stand alone and live in the camera.

I am on the October patch and have a silver non carrier North American K2.

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app Photos.
    Select a photo.
    Tap Google Lens Google Lens.
Depending on your photo, check the details, take an action, or find similar products.

You will receive this error if Google app is either disabled or not upto date

Even with the Google app enabled and up-to-date, it still spits out that error for me.

I reported the issue them some time ago, but none of the updates so far have fixed it, so I'm not holding my breath...

I would suggest that all affected open a ticket with BBMo in order to perhaps raise awareness and expedite a fix. If needed they should be able to bring in Android to help.

I would open one today, but mine is not affected.

    Best of luck,
