Check Power Center, tap on Manage Automatic Apps and see if Facebook is enabled or disabled. If it's disabled, enable it. I have no idea why, but for me Power Center shut down a bunch of apps and it stopped their notifications. Took me a while to find it because it wasn't something I initiated.
Thanks for the response Bla1ze. Just checked Power Center, it's checked on.
best thing you could do to your android device is uninstall Facebook and install Facebook lite
Hmm, in that case not sure what the issue would be then.
Does lite have the same functionality? Why not full blown Facebook? Just curious. Thanks,
Have same issue , received no notifications , actually to be accurate I receive not all the notifications but only some.
Same issue was on my key one and key one black edition.
Never managed to find why.
Full blown Facebook is well known to be one of the most resource hogging apps ever on Android. Unless you absolutely need what it offers, I'd stick with the Lite version.
Also go to Settings> Apps & notifications> Facebook> App notifications; make sure it's toggled on
Everything is on but I'm experiencing the same thing as the OP. Notifications only come through when I open FB Lite.
Maybe there's a power saving setting somewhere preventing you from getting the notifications
Checked all settings mentioned and all are enabled. Facebook is not set to power savings. It is a mystery for now I guess. Looking back, it was the same situation on my K1 Silver Edition.
Correction: I do seldomly get a notification, just nowhere near consistent.
thanks for allowing to share my experience with Three different devices: DTEK 50, Aurora and, now, Key 2. Facebook notifications simply do not come up, even though all the settings are enabled. They come just via email. If there is an explanation, please, provide it. I'm starting to think there is something weird concerning the lawsuit between blackberry and Facebook for the allegedly copied patents, even though it May seem a piece of science fiction. coming back to reality, since the abandoning of Facebook of blackberry 10 it was impossible for me to receive a fb notification. it even happened when I blackberrized a Samsung S6 with Hub and other components before they became available via play store. In any case, if anybody has an answer, I would be glad to get it
I actually had the opposite problem, I don't want notifications from FB, and being new to Android it took some time searching through settings to actually shut them off.
@SteveNoza: anyway, you are getting Facebook notification on the "F" logo on tour homescreen?
Are you talking about the Facebook app icon? It does not do that, you would need to install a Widget to for that to happen. I looked in the Widgets loaded on my Key 2 and didn't see one, maybe you can get it from the Playstore?
Yes, I'm just talking about the icon, but I can't get screen notification as well. it only happens with Facebook, while everything is ok for Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram and whatever else
If it persist with all devices it is definitely something wrong with your settings. Check Facebook app, system notification settings, Facebook browser, it can be marked only emails ON, but OFF to devices
It's some sort of algorithm issue. Google it and you'll see users of other Android devices suffering the same issue.
I had it on my PRIV and KEYᵒⁿᵉ for a while: https://forums.crackberry.com/androi...tions-1129152/
So mine is not giving notifications for the facebook messenger app since updating to Oreo (ABD174, 8.1.0) - I've followed all your above-mentioned instructions, reset and made sure all the apps are up-to-date... any other ideas?
just a question, where do you want these notifications?
Under the Facebook App » click on the 3 horizontal lines » Settings and Privacy » Settings » Notification Settings
look for where you want to receive notifications, either Push/Email/SMS and ensure this is enabled from the Facebook app
Try checking the notifications menu within the settings of your device. After the Oreo update, some apps have to be reconfigured there as new options where added.
Passport (10.3.3.3216) / KEYᵒⁿᵉ "Black Edition" (8.1.0)
