Sure Helps that BlackBerry continues with SUPPORT regardless who receives.
As long as they want to keep getting subscription fees, what choice do they have?

It has nothing to do with the licencing agreement.

These are BlackBerry Limited products available to ALL Android devices.
    Makes sense logically.

However, seems to me there was a progression of select beta app updates being released every couple of weeks in the past. The gap between this app update the previous one seems a lot longer, it's good to see BB is still on top of it.

Perhaps this is a precursor to a security update?

I would bet not the most currently recurrent revenue stream. So the choice is theirs or not to continue supporting "mobile" devices including those with a BlackBerry label. But hey I have no doubt you will answer this with another question. To each his own "How to interpret BlackBerry actions"

Nobody here has a legit answer. Goodnight!

If TCL pays, they will get updates too.

Can a Key2 owner get the same updated apps via the Playstore or do they have to pay 99 cents ?

Pay your 99 cents and then unsubscribe?

No, BBMo devices get the suite updates the same as everyone else - it's completely independent of the OS update infrastructure.

My post was referring to security patches.

BlackBerryMobile devices don't pay for BlackBerry apps suite. They come installed in device and updates are Free via PlayStore.

The device owners don't pay, but TCL does.

If the relationship ultimately breaks down, we may be forced to pay for the suite like everyone else.

Why should BB allow us free ride at expense of paying customers? In order to continue the program, it would make the most sense to convert us to paying customers while on a BBMo device that when EOL, we continue as paying user already on some other non-BBMo hardware?

I’d like to see the program continued so it doesn’t end up like BB hardware.

We seem to have some action now.

New September builds have made their way to PTCRB for the Motion, KEY², and KEY² LE.

Maybe a concession to the end-users amidst negotiations?

No concession to end users. Google have a lot of blackberry android devices in their organisation and they expect the other contracts and agreements to be honoured.

Haven't heard from Cobalt in a while... I'm wondering if BlackBerry sent a guy for him.

That free ride might be coming to an end....
