    Hello everyone,

A proud user of BlackBerry Key2 here.

Once in a while, I will have people asking me, 'Are you using iPhone or Android'? The question usually arise because there would be time that they want to transfer file, sync or use accessories etc.

I would love to tell them that I am using BlackBerry but obviously there's no BlackBerry OS anymore. In the end, I will just say I'm using Android. But if the question is specific to what phone I am using, of course I would tell them 'I'm using BlackBerry!'.

So what do you tell people the phone that you are currently using?

If I had the keytwo I would tell the person Android as that's the truth. As for the phone I would explain it's a BlackBerry branded device and not a real blackberry if you know what I mean.
This was typed on a real blackberry

    Great question.

I use a K1. When people see the PKB, they usually remark with some variation of "Is that a blackberry? I didn't know they still work." I say, "It's the new blackberry and it runs android." Most are unimpressed. A few show further interest.

Most do not know that BlackBerry is currently running on android. So it is safe to tell the world, 'I'm using a BlackBerry'!

Everyone I have that conversation with insists on grabbing the phone out of my hand! They usually express genuine interest in it and admiration for the design and security features. But no one has ever said they wanted to go back to a PKB. Heck, if AT&T had offered the Motion, I might have bought that instead, though the lack of shortcut keys in Home-button-mad Android would have made the Motion less convenient.

After almost 14 months using a PKB again, I still prefer a VKB for writing, but the PKB for editing and navigation.

People just want to know whether you are using iPhone or Android when they want to check on the compatability.

They don't care if it's Samsung, Sony, Lenovo, OnePlus6, Huawei, Xiaomi, Asus or LG because for them, it's all Android.

IMO, it's moving in that direction, but the focus of many of the threads here are still BlackBerry-oriented:

    PKB vs. VKB
    Security and Privacy
How to approximate the BBOS and BB10 work flows on BlackBerry Android
Former BlackBerry users now on iOS
    Etc.

Remember there are millions of former BlackBerry users who, even after accepting Android (or iOS) as their go-forward OS would like to experience some of the work-focused BlackBerry magic on their current platforms.

I reply to such question with "BlackBerry on BlackDroid". Some swallow that without further questions, with some this starts a conversation that gives me the chance to explain more details and proudly wave the BB flag.
