Custom sym key layout bug, ampersand=semicolon
Hey CB people, hope everyone is safe and reasonably healthy still.
Slowly and painfully migrating to my KEY2 from the One. I will try and stop myself from ranting too much about how they had the keyboard layout just right and then went and broke it - at least for people who need ctrl and dollar sign that is. Anyhow, the only way to get the currency key (dollar) back on the PKB when mapped to ctrl is with a custom sym layout. So I created one based on the standard layout, adding dollar and some other bits in place of less frequently used characters. Works fine, sym-Z = $, I can live with that.
However I found a rather irritating bug. Ampersand mapped to sym-J gives me a... semicolon. Every time. The overlay screen shows an &, touching it gives an &, the & highlights in blue as I press sym-J on the PKB... but I still get a semicolon. With the custom layout disabled, it works fine. Custom layout on, semicolon again.
Has anyone else seen this? Seems like a bug where the J key is not overridden with the custom character somehow and mapped to the next sym layout instead (alt keys).
Things like the BlackBerry keyboard and BlackBerry launcher were pretty much written for BlackBerry devices, so my guess is that as the TCL deal dies away, we are not going to see much in terms of updates and fixes... I had some other annoying issues with the launcher like when moving a shortcut onto the home screen, it gets activated instead of being placed, and also two icons stuck on top of each other and returning after every screen lock, until a reboot. Ugh...
Thanks,
