covid track and trace
This as appeared on android phones and in the UK, there was an app trialled in Jersey. I tried the app and found it intrusive and battery draining, and yet, the battery has started draining again without this trial app on. A friend on fb posted this and bugger me, the app appears to have been integrated into Google, but how?
Does anyone know anything?

I have disabled most Google services and opted out of everything possible. the track and trace needs gps and bluetooth so it's no wonder it is a battery hog. I doubt they can enable the service on your phone against your wishes, and even then you could keep your phone in a signal blocking case to thwart it if you want to.

I origionally tried the UK nhs app and it drank battery as every minute it wanted to know where I was. I uninstalled the app but noticed humongous battery drain. a friend alerted me to it and low and behold, every android device as it!

if it is a bluetooth-run app just like Italian Immuni, it always runs in background to catch infected people' s signal. No wonder if it drains your battery
