For anyone who really wants a Red Key2 and already has a Key2... Just transfer the innards. Of you won't have the 128gb of storage but only you would know..

I'm actually considering getting just the Red keyboard and slapping it on a Black KEY2.
It's gonna look very weird though, even with a black case.
But better space bar :) lol
If I could get the keys from red onto the silver I would be all over it. I really like the white alt keys. But even a new silver would make my phone look new again. My keys are worn a lot.

Have you checked on what the extortionists on eBay are asking for a Red Key2. $2000+
It does appear that TCL is cleaning out their parts cabinet. Those keyboards are OEM.

That's because "supply and demand" is how prices work. If ten people all want one item, the price goes up, and if only one person wants and item, and their are ten for sale, then price declines.

Nice part of it all is that you don't need to worry about the screen since it is already installed in the replacement frame. The only thing that I'd be super sensitive about is the removal of the blue and white antenna wire leads. But if successful you still have a spare frame and LCD.
It would look so weird to have a red keyboard on a Silver or even Black KEY2, but a black case would mask most of it.
Still might be worth it, kind of nervous about those two annoying blue and white wires.
anyone attempted to do that? there are some components in the key 2 like the ribbon cable to the charging port which seem to not going off?
ahh, as much as I want a red Keyone. I am not sure if I want to spend $140 usd on it plus shipping and paying a shop to do it properly.
My silver keyboard is working fine too.

There is a great "teardown" key2 video I think by IFixIt (just Google key2 teardown).
For the ribbon cable you have to use a heatgun (remove the battery first!) to loosen the adhesive and then it should lift off.
