Built for Business - Learn more about BlackBerry KEY2

    Greetings,

When I view the list of devices connected to my router, it shows two Wi-Fi devices called "android-[...]". I have two KEY2 phones that use Wi-Fi to connect to the router, but I can't tell them apart. How do I change the device name?

Someone else asked this question, but the response was off-topic. I don't want to change the device name for:

    • Bluetooth
    • NFC
    • Wi-Fi Hotspot

    Thanks,
    Shane.

It's under Wi-Fi preferences -- wiFi direct. Rename device.

Sorry, I didn't add Wi-Fi Direct to the list of things I don't want to change. The current Wi-Fi Direct device name is "BlackBerry BB1100-2 2dc6".

I'm not using Wi-Fi Direct. Instead, I use Wi-Fi to connect to a router. The KEY2 identifies itself as "android-...". How can I change this?

Alternatively, is there a user guide for Android 8.1 that I can download? I've already downloaded the user guide from BlackBerry.

    Thanks,
    Shane.

AFIK you can't unless your router allows you to change connected client names.

There is no updated user guide.

It doesn't. It just displays however the device identifies itself.

There is no updated user guide.
    Thanks. I'll stop looking.

    Shane.
