What businesses still run with blackberry and do company phone roll outs? Seems like the whole business user market thing is dead! Phones are now all purpose devices IPhone has shown us that if we like it or not! So I think the Key3 or the next PKB blackberry flagship phone should go all out with showing pleasure on these devices are just as important as business! Besides the business market is overrated anyway I mean even in the quality briefcase error all men had was porn, mabe a gun, a few important papers proving business was a look more than a focus when you dig deep you find pleasures to be more important but kept private. I say keep the classic look and security like they have but increase on specs and go all out! so at the light it may look like grandpa's car just came from the car wash but when it turns green they'll be in awe wondering why There looking at your tail lights lol People are People before anything else I don't put nothing pass anyone. What I mean is your exterior is simply a cover! GOD or the DEVIL lives in the details I wonder what would have been in your briefcase?
What can a BlackBerry do better or more secure than an iPhone or Galaxy on a managed business network?

Not sure about that. I think they left BB because of apps. Period. Many, many people who see my KEY2 say they would like a PKB. I've NEVER heard anyone talk about their screen real estate.
I agree with this people love the PKB design! They left because of apps and now there not sure of Blackberrys because the last thing they remember is operating systems not being capable or up to date!

Actually the Priv has more screen real estate than most phones a lot of the time. The minute the keyboard pops up on the average smartphone the Priv becomes the real estate winner :-)

True. Unfortunately, the Priv had other issues.

There were lots of other PKB phones running Android between 2008-2012, but mainstream users abandoned all of them, not just BB. BB holds the remaining niche of PKB users, but PKB phones are never going to be mainstream again. That time has come and gone.

Be happy that you have a PKB option at all and support the one that still exists, or it too will go away.

Nope..people are not going to come back to PKBs it's just not happening. They will not sacrifice screen real estate for a physical keyboard. It has nothing to do with marketing. They can market all they want it won't change the fact that the majority has spoken and spoke a long time ago..we are a niche group of users now and we are always going to be.
Except for Michael Fisher, who switched back to BlackBerry with the release of the KEY2.

I think you're confusing the reasons people left BB with the positive innovations related to a larger screen in 2008. My point is this: in 2019, you can have both: the benefits of a PKB and the benefits of a larger screen. This is NOT about people disliking PKBs, in my unscientifically established view (I remain respectful and modest, if I do say so myself).

Yeah, but regular people don't visit CrackBerry, but they are influenced by people like Michael though so he could actually make a difference.

I would be surprised if there were any businesses that still supply their staff with BB phones. What would be the benefit? Why lock users into an antiquated UI when they are more productive on touch?

Folding phones are nearly upon us. Companies may see benefit in these, but let's be honest, the serviceability and reliability of Chinese android BB devices are not good enough for business demands. Where can one get service / replacement units at short notice? Warranty claims internationally?

A bank in Canada just purchased over 10,000 KEY² devices for deployment throughout North America.

40% of BBMo sales are to business.

That would be an interesting business case to read. It would rank with the sections of the NYPD using Windows phones and local governments using Linux distros instead of windows.

Why? They're simply Android phones with BlackBerry Secure. No different than buying Samsung or Pixel.

    1. Limited or nil international servicing | repair
    2. Reasonably new product | OEM in the market with minimal sales = risk of future upgrades / service
    3. Short term parts availability.

Windows Phone? Are they still using them? They better upgrade then as Win Phone 8 is dead and the end of 10 is nearing (later this year)...

I would expect all of that is addressed in the contract terms. It's a North American business, so the international service, repair isn't that big if a deal. And, though the BlackBerry Mobile brand is only two years old, TCL has been in the mobile phone business for a while now, and they've been in consumer electronics for a very long time.

In business purchases, the risks should be addressed exactly in the terms of the agreement. Trust is overrated!

Because the masses have moved on to the touch screen and they aren't coming back
No, they're just buying overall a better product which is all touchscreen now, just wait until someone offers equal competition to the flagships with PKB and all will be sold for ex. NOKIA with E series comeback

No, laptops are better then never, just because of the PKB. All new tablets come with added-PKB now because all manufacturers understand it is necessary part, but they gonna fail because they still offer lousy attached PKB

phones are no exception, we just don't have competitive product with PKB for a long time.

We had pretty decent hardware at the time, but lousy software before.. Now it's vise versa, now we have up to date software, but ****ty hardware.

Agree and Chinese as well . Maybe the Canadian bank is working with a carrier to get a real great deal. The inherent unreliability of a PKB would be a turn off to most IT depts.
