Been using my new (space bar wobbly) key2. I have noticed extreme battery drain.see attached - overnight the battery drain circled in black.

What can be draining the battery so extremely quick when the phone is idle / not being used?

Apps 81% .. looks like you have an app running steadily in the background. Maybe a news or audio app constantly refreshing for updates?

Should be able to long press apps there and they see which one is using the most power. Then force stop it.

Open the "Battery" app. Scroll down and it will show you what apps have used what percentage of your battery.

Same problem here. Something is slowly draining battery, and I can't figure out what it is.

Install Gsam battery monitor, grant it adb permissions and wait a day and check what the exact app is that's killing it.

I don't understand the over night battery drain as I charge my phone at night. Amazing the people who never charge while they are asleep.

I charge mine to 100% right before going to sleep, then unplug it, put it in airplane mode, and voila. Why the unnecessary wear on the battery by leaving it plugged all night.

Well, looks like my battery drain (according to gsam) is caused by the Android kernel. Ugh! That explains why the drain is constant, even when in airplane mode. My only encouragement is that not everyone is complaining about it, so I assume it will be fixed.

A more extreme solution would be a factory reset but make sure you back everything up first

Ah . . . I'd be afraid of going to the trouble of a factory reset and reloading everything, and the problem would still be there. I suppose it only took me two days. :P

Give it a full couple days before you do anything.it might be an app still. Did you grant it full adb permission?

Were you able to grant root access to GSAM? I think probably not, in which case it will just lump a bunch of apps into "Android kernel", so you're no farther ahead.

Try enabling Developer Mode and checking out Running Services (quick video tutorial here: )

Try shutting down apps and you may be able to figure out the culprit.

No not root, but I did the adb permissions and it shows a lot of details it didn't before. However today my battery life seems quite dramatically improved. Been unplugged now for close to three hours and only as I'm writing this it dropped to 98%.

What do you mean with adb permissions? Could you elaborate on it?
