Anyone using Silver KEY2 on Rogers?

If so does VoLTE or WiFi calling work? How is reception? Call quality?

I'm using a Rogers KEY2 Silver with WiFi calling. I had to install the September update with an autoloader to enable WiFi calling because Rogers seems to be skipping this update.

Thank you! Do you have VoLTE during phone calls and LTE+ network coverage?

I have the Silver K2 on Rogers with August update and no WiFi calling. Good to hear that maybe September update will enable WiFi calling and VoLTE. We shall see as BlackBerry support said no due to carrier supplied phone contracts.

I have had LTE+ coverage, but may be mistaken as I had it on my KEYone before switching.

I haven't paid attention to VoLTE either, but can assure you that WiFi calling works fine...I have no reception at my office and rely on it daily.

I got Silver on Wind/Freedom and while I have never used it, Wi-Fi calling seems to be available.

I'm looking at getting a Silver KEY2. Can you check to see if you have LTE+ while on a call?

If it does not can you comment on call quality?

Thank you, looking to buy asap!

Here is a screenshot mid WiFi call. LTE+ is on and off where I'm at right now.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply. when you make a phone call over the network do you ever get LTE+ while in a call? or does it always go to 4G?

BTW, to get the WiFi calling you had to use autoloader and another version of the OS? where did you get those?

Just search for the ABI235 autoloader on this forum. Link and instructions should be there.

Amazing! Going to get the device and load the OS. Thank you so much for your help! One last question. If I load this OS do I still get software updates? And does that risk the features going away?

I have yet to revert back to carrier updates, as I've only had my KEY2 since September. It is my understanding that in order to get back on track with carrier updates, you need to install an autoloader with the same update version as your carrier. But, don't take my word on that. I'm more of a data recovery expert than a BlackBerry Android expert.

Hmmmm, very interesting. I have a NA BBF100-2 Unlocked Silver Edition bought at Walmart Canada on Rogers running October update (ABI067). I have spent hours on the phone with Tech support and an hour and a half at a store while they were on with tech support. I have also contacted BBMo several times and here is the straight scoop. There is no WiFi calling on any K2 Silver as this is not a carrier phone! There is also no VoLTE! Call quality on 4G is good to answer your question. K1 does have WiFi and VoLTE. If someone has a Silver Edition K2 working with WiFi calling on Rogers, then you have won the lottery! Lol

There was no Silver K2 offered by Rogers, only Vaderberry's. Fact!

Rogers is the same about the wifi calling and VoLTE. My understanding is that these functions can work. But are blocked because we bought unlocked and not from the carrier. Punished for not giving them a sale. I feel like the CRTC should address this.
